For years, I had a secret place for my dreams… a place where I tucked my “when I…”, for later rumination. My first remembrance of stepping into the arena of learning homesteading skills was in 1990 when I wanted to learn how to can peaches. It was a disaster. Eventually I received the correct knowledge from a friend and I figured it out. I attained the confidence to try again… and thus began my competence in canning!
And so has the journey gone over the last several decades: gaining and implementing knowledge surrounded by supportive, cheering friends – a community.
But wait – let’s talk a little bit about YOUR dream! I’m curious to know what brought you to this particular page…
- What is your dream/purpose? Why? “Finding and accomplishing your [dream/purpose] is quite possibly the greatest responsibility we have as a generation.”
- What is the biggest obstacle you face in achieving your dream/purpose? “We can serve our weakness or we can serve our purpose.”
- Is there a significant event or happening that dramatically changed your life? “You are the most qualified to help the person you used to be.”
- Do you belong to a supportive, like-minded community? “We don’t need snipers, we need gardeners and shepherdesses.” Beth Warner
